Oceanside, CA vacation?
I have the opportunity to stay in resort timeshare with my sister. The week of April 14 April 18. There's one in Oceanside. What should I do? Apart from the beach? Are there good, but not too expensive places to eat nearby? And I have to rent a car? Or is there reliable public transport? What if you do not choose to stay on the beach all day? As if the weather turns? How long it takes to drive or go to San Diego? Is there transportation to Oceanside? Any suggestions for help or information is appreciated, Thanks.
There many restaurants in Oceanside, usually ends in Carlsbad or San Marcos East for dinner. Some of those are pleasant Anita (Mexico) and Saffron (Cuba), both in the coastal road. Almost all the rest is fairly common. There is a transit center south of the pier with Amtrak, Metrolink, and the mountain sprinter of all trains operating from there. The Coaster is a commuter train, but can reach the center in an hour or Old Town in 45 minutes and is completely reasonable. The attached link will give you money and time for mountain and sprinter. It is 40 miles south of downtown and the Gaslamp area. If you drive, avoid peak hours. Transit Center, near bus 101 for coastal path that can reach the area of Torrey Pines, about an hour. Apart from the beach, Oceanside has not much to offer visitors. Must be nice next week, more than 60 per day. Enjoy your trip!
